Lynnette's Story

Lynnette Wilson, Owner

I grew up in a loving family, in a small town, with a big heart.    I married, had a son, that has since married his lovely wife and they have blessed up with three precious grandkids.  After teaching kindergarten for over 30 years I retired.  Art had always been a part of my classroom.  After retiring, I was asked to help design a new banner for our town.  When I did, at the encouragement of my Mother, I designed and hand painted our new town banner.  From that, I decided to hand paint and make flags to sell that coordinated with our banner.  The banners were hung on the light poles and flags were flying throughout our small town.

A new town motto had recently been selected; “Small Town, Big Heart”.  I decided to do a town bulletin board and change the décor on it for the different seasons and holidays.  This was a unique way to welcome all to our town.

I then painted one of my old plain patio umbrellas and turned it into a new floral umbrella.  The painted floral umbrella ended up on facebook and eventually my website.   The orders began to come.  For over 3 years I hand painted large patio umbrellas, flags, pillows, etc. nonstop.  Most of these were special orders.

I felt if special designed umbrellas and flags were a hit and the fact that they take such a long time to do then maybe I should offer this service to many people in a different way.   This is when the search process began, which took me from one lead to another lead for over a year.  Each person I met led me to the next person.

The first sign that started it all

I had been experiencing a feeling that God had something else for me to do.  It became very obvious to me and others close to me that God was leading me every step of the way. This process went on for some time, but as I had been told in the beginning that I just had to find that right connection.  Well, eventually I did.  I found a company with an outstanding employee that listened to my umbrella dream.  I shared my ideas, designs, and plans with her.  She immediately took interest and in a short time we were up and running printing large patio umbrellas.  I had started adding special toppers to my hand painted umbrellas and now I hope to continue this option with my printed umbrellas.

Nett’s Funbrellas and Décor became what is now, Stix N Tops by Lynnette.

I hope you will enjoy looking at the new umbrella in town, on the beach and at your back door.  These umbrellas are very bright and cheerful.  The colors on them can be changed and they can be personalized.  I hope you will love my umbrellas and purchase several for your home, beach trips, party décor, special occasion, or your business.  The umbrellas help set the stage for your event.

Visit my website and follow me on Facebook because new designs will be added.

I hope to be the new umbrella in town!

Remember, “Life’s too short for an ordinary umbrella!”

Thank You,

Lynnette
